GROUP ACTIVITY In groups, work on the BRAIN TEASER HANDOUT. Students reflect on the effectiveness of their group using a REFLECTION FORM. BUDGET ACTIVITY 1 How much money are you going to make? How much money will you have to pay in Federal Taxes? State Taxes? FICA? Calculate your gross and your net salary.

1. Go to the EDUCATION PLANNER and browse the various resources available to you. Select EXPLORE CAREERS THAT INTEREST YOU. Complete CAREER CLUSTER activity. View career categories prioritized just for you, based on your interests and abilities. ANSWER THE FOLLOWING QUESTION: a. Which of these 5 categories is most suited to you? b. Did any of them surprise you? c. Why do you think these were chosen for you? d. What are some questions you have about that career category? 2. Complete WHICH CAREERS MATCH YOUR SKILLS" activity. Think about the things you are good at doing, then find careers that match those skills. Reflect: Choose a career that interests you. ANSWER THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS: a. Which career matches your skills? b. Do you think it suits you? Why or why not? c. What are some questions you have about that career?
3. Click on the OCCUPATIONAL RESEARCH PROJECT link. Choose two questions under each subheading to answer. Cite your sources for your information. 4. Go to BLOGSPOT.COM Create a presentation that conveys all of the information that is listed on the project guidelines. Prepare to present your occupation to the class.
